WHAT IS COPYRIGHT?
The U.S. Copyright Act of 1978 grants the copyright owner exclusive right to:
(1) reproduce a work,
(2) prepare derivative works,
(3) Distribute and/or sell copies of the original work,
(4) Perform/display the work publicly.
The Copyright Act also defines any created work automatically copyrighted by its creator upon creation (works need not display a © copyright symbol).
What this means for you, as a "web surfer," is that, despite the relative ease with which you are able to download/copy/paste graphics and text through your web browser software, you must still contact Andrew Fuller for permission to make even a single copy of anything contained on www.owlsoup.com
Please don't interpret this declaration as in the least bit unreasonable — the U.S. Copyright Act is an existing law, made to protect anyone who creates any original work. I am simply calling this law to your attention.
It's easier to ask. And cheaper than a lawsuit.
